Will you be sad to see him go?

It was accepted that once the fans could see he was going to be successful, which was fairly apparent from the moment he walked in the place, that he wouldn't be staying that long.

He is going to a Premier League club, so it would be ridiculous to expect him to stay.

The fans will be very sad to see him go. Generally, he played very attractive football and he has been successful. He has tried to play passing football and you could see the players had clearly been instructed to keep the ball on the deck - it was good stuff to watch.

What was the secret of his success?

At Milton Keynes, Ray Mathias and Ince were very much a double act.

For the first half of every home game, Ince would sit in the stands and watch the game. He would come down in the second half and Mathias was a very, very important part of his success. Often he would do all the press stuff. Whether that will carry on I'm not sure.

Will he be able to recreate that success at Blackburn?

He will have a slightly harder job. When he walked into the dressing-room at MK Dons, the players would have been pretty much in awe of somebody who has won 53 caps for England, captained the national side, played for Inter Milan and Manchester United.

When he walks into the dressing-room at Blackburn he's not going to have that instant effect on the players.

He will clearly command a lot of respect for his achievements but he won't have quite the same impact as he did at Milton Keynes. I suspect like any manager he will have to earn respect.

How ambitious is he and how far can he take Blackburn?

He wants to manage Inter Milan - he has gone on record as saying that would be his dream job. I suspect he would also like to be England manager, so that's the extent of his ambition.

He has been successful at the two clubs he has been at, saving Macclesfield when it looked like they were finished and then at MK Dons. You have to remember that he earned promotion having not spent a huge amount of money on the team.

Darren Ferguson of Peterborough did spend an awful lot of money and finished behind him, so it's not as though he has bought his way to promotion.

I don't see any reason why he won't be successful at Blackburn. Of course it's impossible to say whether he will be, but he's a very talented manager. Blackburn fans should be very pleased.
