Blackburn Rovers are expected to name Paul Ince as their new manager before the end of the week.
According to reports this morning, the Premier League club are ready to appoint the former Manchester United midfielder as Mark Hughes's successor. MK Dons granted Blackburn permission to speak with the 40-year-old last week and he is now set to become the Premier League's first black British manager.
Michael Laudrup has revealed today that he has also held talks with Blackburn and admits he would be interested in becoming the club's new manager. Despite this, Ince remains the firm favourite for the job and the League Managers' Association has said it will support Ince if he gets the job, despite him not holding the correct coaching qualifications to manage a top-flight club.
Last week, Ince indicated that he would relish the chance to replace Hughes at Ewood Park.
"I can't make any decisions until I get a call from my chairman at MK saying that Blackburn have asked for permission to speak to me," he said. "But it's a lovely club, a great club, great traditions, a family club. Mark Hughes did a fantastic job there. So we'll see."
Ince began his managerial career at Swindon Town before taking charge of Macclesfield Town in 2006. He became manager of MK Dons in 2007 and led the club to the League Two title this season, also winning the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Wembley.

I think we should wait until after the Euros for Billic. If we can't get Billic then Laudrup would be a great choice. Ince is a step in the wrong direction.

As a Swindon fan of 20 years standing, I have to admit I'm struggling to recall Paul Ince's tenure at the County Ground. Are you sure he managed the Town?
