James McFadden, the Birmingham City forward, has vowed to remain with the club even if they are relegated from the Barclays Premier League on Sunday.
McFadden, 25, signed a three-and-a-half year deal when he joined from Everton in January and insists he won't jump ship even if the worst happens. Alex McLeish's team must beat Blackburn Rovers and hope neither Fulham nor Reading win to retain their top flight status.
McFadden said: "I haven't really given my own situation much thought, although there is obviously a good chance we could go down. I have only just arrived at the club and I'm not looking to leave in a hurry. Hopefully we will get the right result on Sunday, we stay up, and I won't need to worry about anything."
McFadden, who has been named the inaugural Scottish Football Writers' International Player of the Year, insists relegation would be unlikely to harm his international prospects.
He added: "I don't think playing in the Championship would affect me in terms of Scotland. If I'm playing every week and scoring goals, it shouldn't make a difference what level I'm playing at."

The big worry now is whether we can retain the good players that we have now, if, as appears likely, we do not retain our Premier status, can we also hang on to Alex Mcleish, It would seem as though he will stay for the long haul, as has been quoted recently.
Finally, Will the present board stay.
