These are extracts from a 999 call made by a 14-year-old girl, who was sobbing and hysterical as she begged for an ambulance to come to and save Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend Robert Maltby after they were attacked in Stubbylee Park, Bacup, Lancashire.
The harrowing 13-minute recording was played to Preston Crown Court today, the first day of the murder trial of a 15-year-old boy accused of murdering Miss Lancaster. The call was seemingly made as the attack came to an end. The tape begins with the witness speaking to an operator at ambulance control.
Girl: “We need, we need an ambulance at Bacup Park, this mosher’s just been banged because he’s a mosher. We need an ambulance at Bacup Park quick on the skate park.”
As the operator asks for the address of the incident she adds, “It’s a mosher just been banged for no reason.
“Yeah we need an ambulance because he’s lying on the floor not even breathing.
“I don’t even know him but he’s just been battered and it’s horrible.”
In the background the girl’s two male friends, teenage boys, try to stop the attack.
An unknown male can be heard shouting: “Oy, get the f*ck off him now!”
Another voice is heard saying: “What you standing about, he’s on the floor man, he’s practically fucking dead - kicking his head in.”
The girl continues: “Everyone is still on him, but don’t tell ’em I’m on the phone to you right now.”
She then tells the operator that Miss Lancaster has also been attacked.
Girl: “His girlfriend is on the floor as well. They’re still breathing but they are full of blood. Please just send an ambulance quick. She’s choking on her blood, please will you help us quick?”

I have read this report and am heart broken .I myself can be classed as a "goth" and i have to say that this was a brutal and horrible attack on two younge and NORMAL individuals, It has never been a fair world, but it is not us who need to change its the world....

I would like to send my condolences to both familes & friends of these poor victims,
Whilst I agree with alot of what has been said above I also wonder what the hell these kids were doing in that park in the early hours of the morning.
Been said before they`ve commited adult crimes they should serve adult punshments
Also
Whilst I agree the 14 year old was brave Paul from Persia I doubt very much the queen would reward her being out at 1am

Sean, Coventry - "turgid unhelpful operators"? How on earth do you reach that conclusion? The transcript here seems to show the operators doing exactly what you'd expect them to do - calm the caller and help her do whatever she could for the victims.
Richard, Addlestone, UK
This girl and her friends deserve a medal and a whole lot of support. We need to get hem on TV and as much good publicity as possible to send a message to the other kids that doing the right thing is going to be rewarded. A monetary reward wouldn't go a miss either.
Wouldn't it be great if the Queen, or someone from the Royal family (Second thoughts either Prince William or Harry) was available to present an award too. I reckon it would do a lot more good than sending them off to fight in Afghanistan. Enough troubles to sort out back home I reckon.
Paul, Perth, Australia
thats amazing for a 14 year old to do that.
john smith, leeds,
Turgid and unhelpful operators ? How do you work that one out ? From what I can gather from this transcript I would've thought he / she was extremely helpful and efficient ?
Huw, Sydney, Aust
Brave girl - especially in the face of such turgid unhelpful operators
