A missing terror suspect who absconded while on a control order was named yesterday as Zeeshan Siddiqui.
Police issued a photograph of the terror suspect after a judge lifted an anonymity order.
The former London Underground employee was subject to a control order when he disappeared by jumping from the window of a mental health unit in west London in September.
Mr Siddiqui, 26, from Hounslow in west London, had trained with a London suicide bomber in Pakistan but until yesterday was known only as “AD”.
Judge Peter Rook, sitting at the Old Bailey, lifted that order, saying that he did not think reporting the man’s identity would prejudice his future trial. Mr Siddiqui had been due for trial accused of three breaches of his control order after he allegedly failed to report to police on three occasions.
He would face a more serious charge of absconding in addition to the original breaches if he is captured.
Mr Siddiqui was named in evidence at the Old Bailey as a member of a British network of men including the bomb plotters. The other members of the network were Mohammad Sidique Khan, one of the London suicide bombers and Omar Khyam, who was jailed recently for his part in a plot to build homemade fertiliser bomb.
Evidence given during the trial at the Old Bailey of those involved in the fertiliser bomb plot, said that Mr Siddiqui was suggested as a potential suicide bomber.
