A run-down church with planning permission

Sawley Parish Outbuilding, Ripon, North Yorkshire for Wreck of the Week

What? An Edwardian church outbuilding with planning permission to convert to a two-bedroom cottage with living room, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, garden and parking. 860 sq ft.

Where? Overlooking the village green in Sawley, near Ripon, North Yorkshire. Harrogate is nine miles away.

How much? Offers over £125,000.

How wrecked? Formerly a church hall, the building is now used to store equipment for the village fête. It has an original fireplace and timber panelling, but is run-down.

Background

How much will I have to spend? The conversion will cost up to £100,000. The planning consent also states that all external work must match the existing style and the property must be “kept clean and tidy and free from rubbish and hanging washing”. You must also pay £1,665 for provision of an alternative public space.
