Wheeler, 43, is founder of the Charles Tyrwhitt shirt company, now the biggest online and mail-order shirt business in Britain. Profits in 2008 should hit £5m on £50m sales. It is easily worth £60m and Wheeler has a 95% stake. His wife Rucker, 39, studied fashion design before joining Condé Nast, becoming a beauty editor who all the while hankered after running her own business. In 1993 she started The White Company, selling immaculate household textiles. “My mum used to always buy me really bright pink flowery duvet covers, which as a child I loved,” she says. “But when I grew up and moved to London I suddenly wanted everything to be white.” By the end of the first year, the business stocked 200 products. Today, it has a range of more than 2,500 lines, a popular website and 14 stores. Even the Queen owns two of its bed covers. Sales were up in 2005-06 from £40m to £49.5m, justifying a £30m valuation for the company. The couple have four children and, soon after moving to Somerset, Rucker admitted to just one thing not always pristine: Miss Piggy, the white pony that likes rolling in the fields. We add £5m for other assets, taking the couple to £95m.
