Wayne and Coleen will begin married life this summer with none of the usual newlyweds’ financial worries. Photographic rights for the June wedding sold for £3.2m to OK! after a bidding war with Hello! — that’s three times the amount paid for the rights to Posh and Becks’ (qv) wedding in 1999. Rooney, 22, and his Portuguese sidekick Cristiano Ronaldo (qv) have tormented teams across England and Europe this season, and he is reportedly in line for a 20% rise on his £100,000-a-week wages at Manchester United.

A five-book autobiography deal went for £5m and he rakes in more millions annually as one of the global faces of Nike, Coca-Cola and the computer games company EA Sports. McLoughlin, 22, is proving no slouch when it comes to earning money. Her advertising deal with George at Asda is reportedly worth more than £1m and she has a £1.5m endorsement deal with Nike. Her eponymous perfume, launched last summer, was a Christmas best-seller. She has a burgeoning media career, too, most notably the television series Coleen’s Real Women. Her autobiography, Welcome to my World, eclipsed her husband-to-be’s book and she has a publishing deal for further non-fiction projects. Even allowing for their heavy outgoings, the money is pouring in at such a rate that the couple are now worth £35m.
