The richest footballer in the world, Beckham, 32, plays in America with LA Galaxy and his five-year deal could be worth up to £128m. After a shaky start there he helped the team to a 2-0 win at the beginning of this season. Beckham won his 100th England cap in March, becoming only the fifth player to do so. In 2006 his company, Footwork Productions, had an income of £11.1m, mainly from endorsements, and his latest lucrative contracts include deals with Adidas and Motorola. We add another £13m to Team Beckham this year, which includes a contribution of perhaps £5m from wife Victoria, 34, for the Spice Girls’ reunion tour. The couple have certainly been making their presence felt in America: Victoria has been befriending Hollywood stars such as Katie Holmes and stole the show in a self-parodying cameo appearance in the hit TV series Ugly Betty last year, while David was recently booked for making an illegal turn in his Cadillac Escalade on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.
