Despite attracting increasing numbers of passengers, high oil prices have taken their toll on easyJet – shares in the orange airline recently slipped 14% in one day. Haji-Ioannou, 41, is the Greek entrepreneur behind the cut-price airline and brands from easyVan to easyCruise. Haji-Ioannou, who was knighted in 2006, has funded the businesses through regular share sales totalling £106m from easyJet, which floated on the stock market in 2000. The family stake in easyJet is worth £692m, having fallen in the recent stock market downturn. With other assets, we value the family at £812m.
