IT amazing what people choose to ignore when assesing African poverty. for your information. the money raised at the last G8 summitshave not been raised at all!! No country has contributed to the fund in any shape or form.
as usual it was all cheap talk.....
ibrahim , london,
I have just one question: Why does the World Rich List give "America" as the country of residence, when obviously the USA are meant?
Chris Keutmann-Wohlthat, Essen, Germany
I believe that a mass amount of cash injection will not resolve all or even any problem pertaining in Africa, as long as those corrupts politicians are still in power. This is because, the money always end up beeing used for the wrong reasons. I have one questions has all the money raised from the G8 changed anything? have we got prove that the money was spent wisely? the answer is no....

I looked at these tables once before wondering what people do with this much money; and i still do.
Gurpreet, Nottingham,
The third world is being thrust into a Lower middle class dream that the corp gov.s will only use to help them fall farther back into poverty than before. Mexico is losing jobs to China and other south American countries. The Rich just laugh at our concern about these things and really don't care about our rise in cancer or heart attacks from our jobs.
Brandon The Great Adams, Sacramento , America not the US
It's ok telling people that they should be putting their money into Africa but as long as corrupt governments rule there, that money will be going to the wrong people and won't stop the 30,000 children from dying each day. Poverty won't be solved by donations but by political change and progressive development.
E Dyer, UK,
I used to read this list as I boy with fascination at such extreme wealth. As an adult, and knowing a little bit more about the world, I'm faily disgusted by the voyeuristic presenttation of such fortunes. Surely, in a world where over one billion live on less than $1 a day, and 30,000 children die daily of preventable diseases in Africa alone, this gross inequality should not be flaunted as either something to be proud of or a bit of entertainment over breakfast? "Oh look darling, Philip Green spent £6million on his birthday party but you know what, five more children will unnecessarily die before you finish your Corn Flakes?" There's us putting our heads in the sand reading this rubbish when they should be putting their hands in their pockets.

The rich have a moral & ethical responsibility to use their enourmous cash excesses to help those who can't help themselves. Oprah is a good examble as is Bill Gates except gates could do much more. The slaughter is Iraq was and is about large Oil conglomerates making unfair deals with the unstable Government of Iraq that was untenable with Sadam Hussein. In a nutshell more of the same the rich using the middle income people to get richer with very little benefit to those who pay the most. Greed is an unrelenting, viscious taskmaster. Talking is one thing and walking is another. Terrorism is partly a result of the lack of economic opportunity for the mases. Thirty three cents an hour in China a consumer does not make a consumer as the trickle down advocates of NAFTA expoused for the last 20 years. The victims of this crime call it the working death. Seven days a week, 12-16 hours a day is a killer. Cutting banna's in Ecuador seven days a week pays $50/US destroying the human spiri
