Wide, comfortable beds, top-notch service and the finest of wines. All the trimmings and luxury you would expect in business class plus a little more. British Airways’ new Club World is the next generation of business travel. To celebrate the continued excellence of Club World, British Airways has teamed up with The Times to produce a definitive guide for business travellers called The Grade.
New Club World travellers can look forward to a supreme level of comfort and service, but once back on terra firma, what are the best places in the world to sleep and eat? We want you to share your experiences of places of excellence to help us compile The Grade. You could also land yourself one of four luxury holiday prizes.
No one could argue that the best night’s sleep possible is in your own bed. However, when you have to travel for business, it is essential to seek out the next best thing: a home from home. We want to know about the best night’s sleep you’ve had on a business trip. Was it because the hotel service was great or the room was stylishly designed? Or was it simply that your bed was so inviting and comfortable?
Sleeping in comfort and style is something that new Club World knows all about. Business trips are usually dominated by time pressures and British Airways realises the importance of a good night’s sleep.
British Airways was the first trans-Atlantic carrier to introduce lie-flat beds in business class. Seven years on, the revamped cabins boast new beds that are 25 per cent wider. A fabric diaphragm and memory seat foam, as well as a ‘Z’ position setting – mirroring the natural position of the human body in zero gravity – all add up to a softer, more supportive bed. With so much more space, you will get a better night’s sleep and wake up re-energised. Muscle stiffness and sleepless flights are a thing of the past.
New Club World has introduced hi-tech privacy screens that can be dropped down for customers travelling together – restoring romance to flying. Heightened privacy is also much more restful – gone are the days of the salesman snoozing on your shoulder.
To make any business trip bearable, great dining is also a must. We want your recommendations of the best restaurants you have sampled in cities around the world. What made these restaurants memorable? Was it the quality of ingredients, choice, service or wine?
Airline meals. Those two words usually conjure images of cardboard chops and plastic pasta. However, Club World does not serve airline meals, as you know them. It is a restaurant in the sky, with a mouth-watering menu carefully advised by British Airways’ Culinary Council . Menus are constantly updated in consultation with the members of the Council which include a wine expert, a food critic and a team of top chefs.
The whole Club World dining experience is tailored around you, the passenger. If you want to work or sleep as soon as you board, you can take advantage of pre-flight dining in the British Airways Departure lounge on the Sleeper Service routes whilst the new onboard Club Kitchen offers hot and cold snacks and a range of beverages between meals during the flight.
New Club World certainly makes The Grade in the air. After experiencing the service, you will reach your destination feeling good about life. The beds are pure comfort in the sky, the cabin is private and soothing and the food and service are superb.
Now we want your selections for the best in sleeping and dining on the ground.
