London head for LDC

LDC, the private equity unit of Lloyds TSB group, has appointed Daniel Saski as a director of its London office. Mr Saski joins from Hemisphere Capital, an independent merchant bank. He will focus on larger mid-market transactions with an emphasis on media, IT, telecoms and business services companies in and around London.

Landsbanki coup for Matrix

Matrix Corporate Capital has hired 13 members of the investment team previously at Landsbanki to set up an investment funds business. The team will concentrate on corporate finance, market-making research and sales. Also joining from Landsbanki are Simon Brown, a senior building analyst, and Adam Forsyth, an energy analyst.

New MD joins KKR

Kohlberg Kravis Roberts, the asset management company, has hired Jesús Olmos Clavijo as a managing director and head of infrastructure in Europe. Mr Olmos, who will be based in London, was a managing director for corporate development for Endesa.

Financial boss for Permira

Permira, the private equity firm, has appointed James Fraser head of financial services. Mr Fraser will lead the 11-strong global financial services team and will be responsible for identifying investment opportunities. He had been co-head of global financial services for LEK Consulting.

New Celerant directors

The private equity team of Celerant Consulting has made three new director appointments: Ian Turner, who joins from Ernst & Young, where he has had 28 years’ experience in technology consulting in private equity; Sandy MacPherson, who has previously worked with a range of specialist consultancies; and Peter Smith, who has a wealth of experience in private equity.

Pension Corp appointments

Pension Corporation has appointed Frank Eich senior economist. Dr Eich joins on secondment from the Treasury, where he headed the Macro and Fiscal Policy Directorate’s Long Term unit. Pension Corp also announced that it had appointed Louise Inward as its general counsel. Ms Inward had been head of the pensions practice of PwC Legal.
