Term assurance:

A life insurance policy which provides cover for a fixed term in return for the payment of monthly premiums. The sum assured is only paid if the person insured dies within the term of the policy.

Tied Agent:

A financial adviser who may only advise on the financial products of the company to which he or she is 'tied'.

Trust:

A way of giving money or other assets to others while ensuring that you or others you trust retain some control over what happens to the assets. Trusts have frequently been used to avoid paying inheritance tax and also to give money to children and grandchildren at an appropriate age.
