Kingston Business School, part of Kingston University in southwest London, has run an MBA programme for more than 20 years. The school is based at the university’s Kingston Hill campus, which is set in the leafy grounds of a former country estate. The school’s alumni association organises a range of social and sporting events including golf and motor sports.

Vital statistics. Applicants should be at least 26 with five or more years’ work experience and a GMAT score of 600. Students can start the 12-month course in February or September. The programme covers a range of core modules, including strategic management, marketing and financial resource management, as well as a choice of electives from options such as business forecasting and modelling, Islamic finance and project risk management. The fee for the 2008-09 course is £16,000.

International opportunities. Kingston has partnerships with schools in Greece, Cyprus and Moscow. Students who select the global business or international marketing modules can study with Kingston’s Russian partner, the Academy of National Economy, in Moscow.

Scholarships. Kingston offers alumni discounts and several scholarships that reduce the course fees by £1,000-£3,000. This year’s scholarship application deadline has passed.
