Heather Mills McCartney has said that she would rather have all her limbs chopped off than go through the pain of her marriage break-up with Sir Paul McCartney again.
In an interview with the US entertainment show Extra, Lady McCartney that she had been "madly in love" with the former Beatle but the break-up of their four-year marriage had been "devastating".
"I would "I would rather someone come up and chop off all my limbs than go through what I went through," said Lady McCartney, who lost a leg after being hit by a police motorcycle in 1993.
She added: "That is a fact, because if your limbs are chopped off you go, OK, you get another limb and there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
"When you’re vilified for doing nothing but falling in love with an icon, nothing - what have I done, what is my crime? Nothing. I’d rather someone chopped all of my limbs off and that’s the God’s honest truth."
Asked if she would ever marry again, the 38-year-old former model replied: "Never. I’m not saying that I wouldn’t fall madly in love or have a soul mate or anything like that, but I would never go through this again.
"It’s too devastating. I mean most people know divorce is devastating anyway, but to go through it so publicly even when you haven’t said a word or done anything."
