Final day of the trial of PC Daniel Gaffney, who allegedly punched a young boy in the face “in self-defence” during a strip search at Didsbury police station, in Manchester, last year. The boy claimed to have a gun down his trousers and was arrested earlier for threatening care-home staff after an alleged drinking session with a friend.
Cardiff Crown Court
A plea and case management hearing for Dorothy Evans, 82, accused of breaching her antisocial behaviour order. Last month the pensioner denied using threatening words towards a neighbour and opted for a trial.
Portsmouth Magistrates’
The Southampton footballer Nathan Dyer is expected in court charged with burglary. His co-accused, Bradley Wright-Philips, Mr Dyer’s teammate and a son of the former footballer Ian Wright, will have his case heard at Portsmouth Crown Court this year.
