Sentencing of Fadi Nasri and others for the murder of Nasri’s wife, Nisha Patel-Nasri. The special constable was stabbed to death outside her home in Wembley, northwest London, in May 2006 with a cook’s knife that was later found to be missing from her kitchen. Her husband issued an appeal for help to catch her killer in the days after the murder. The court heard that he wanted his wife dead in order to claim her £350,000 life insurance policy to pay off debts. The other defendants to be sentenced today are Roger Lesley and Jason Jones.

Claude Donnelly due before magistrates charged with the rape of a 12-year-old girl in 1972. Charges relate to the continuing historical abuse inquiry, but do not relate to allegations of abuse at the Haut de la Garenne home.

Martin Winter, the owner of Festival Fireworks, and his son Nathan, in court charged with the manslaughter of two firefighters who died tackling a blaze at their factory in December 2006.
