Addleshaw Goddard boasts the best website of any UK law firm according to an annual survey that names and shames the best – and worst – legal sites.
The national firm scored 81 per cent to become the overall winner in this year’s report, that assessed the websites of the 50 fastest growing British law firms.
The survey, conducted by Intendance, a web design consultancy, scores law firms’ websites against four categories: content, usability, design and marketing, to give an aggregate score out of 100.
Addleshaw Goddard - whose website was praised for its “contemporary look and feel” - finished just one point ahead of last year’s winner, Birmingham-based Wragge & Co, that was pushed into second place. Maclay Murray & Spens, which also scored 80 per cent, was third.
Linklaters was the top-ranked “magic circle” firm with 79 per cent to take fourth place just ahead of SJ Berwin in fifth (also 79 per cent.)
At the other end of the table, City firm Holman Fenwick & William finished in the bottom 5 in all four test categories to take overall last place with just 38 per cent.
Second from bottom was Withers with 48 per cent. According to Intendance, both firms are in the process of redesigning their websites. Other poor performers include Dickson Minto (53 per cent) and Macfarlanes (57 per cent.)
The 50 firms surveyed for the report comprise The Lawyer magazine’s “Fast 50” – a list of the 50 fastest growing law firms, by revenue, in the UK.
