The rehabilitation clinic that has treated celebrities including Pete Doherty and Kate Moss is targeting a new clientele: stressed lawyers.

The Priory Group, whose hospital in Roehampton, southwest London, has recently treated Robbie Williams and Jade Goody, has designed a stress management programme for City solicitors.

The scheme, which includes workshops that teach lawyers how to prevent stress levels from getting out of control, is primarily aimed at big City law firms where long hours, pressure to meet billing targets and demanding clients are common. However, lawyers already at - or near - breaking point can check in of their own accord to take advantage of the clinic’s “talking therapies”.

Marco Martinez, the Priory’s business development director, says that the scheme could make law firms more profitable. “Any law firm is only as strong as its people,” he said. It could also, he added, reduce “unwanted litigation risks from discontented employees”.
