Heathrow A British Airways passenger plane that crash-landed at Heathrow in January had low fuel pressure at the inlet to the high-pressure fuel pumps, according to an interim accident report.
Restrictions in the fuel system between the aircraft fuel tanks and each of the engine high-pressure pumps — resulting in reduced fuel flows — were suspected, the report from the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said.
The crew of the flight from Beijing, which crashed on January 17, were praised for landing the aircraft with only one serious injury among the 136 passengers and 16 crew.

One of the MOST crucial pointers is the SIMULTANEOUS loss of thrust from BOTH engines.
Another point is the aircraft ATTITUDE & it's CHANGES just prior to the failure.

If you had read the article properly you would have noticed that the investigation was carried out by the AIR ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION BRANCH. This is a dept of the government. British airways would not have been allowed to influence the investigation.
Adrian James, Bridgend, UK
FACTS from the AAIB report;
1) the aircraft had ample fuel left onboard.
2) fuel flow TOO the pumps WAS restricted causeing a loss of power.
3) articles capable of restricting fuel flow were found in both fuel tanks. One was a sealant spreader used during construction.
OOOPPPs. Humble pie TH?

Can you support your theory, Theron? How did BA fiddle an investigation carried our by the independent AAIB?
Scott, don't believe all the rumours you hear.
Roger Tilbury, Worthing,
How much are you willing to wager, Theron?
Chris Jarvis, Singapore,
I've heard reports that there was no smell of fuel after the crash, or lack of fuel leakage altogether! Kinda strange for a plane that crashed sending the landing gear through the wing (where the fuel is stored)
How very strange!
Scott, london,
I'm willing to wager it was OUT of fuel OR the crew did not switch the tanks Properly! I have been watching this since the day it happened and deduced fuel starvation from day one! IF there is ever a 'Blockage' found it's probably because BA 'fiddled' the Investigation to avoid a Lawsuit Payout!
