Logica CMG, the Anglo-Dutch IT outsourcer, revised its full-year revenue growth to 3 per cent, down from previous guidance of 4 per cent to 6 per cent.
The company, which said last month that Andy Green, a former BT high-flyer, would become its new chief in January, saw its share price drop by 1.93 per cent to 152.75p at the news.
In a statement issued this morning, Logica said that for the three months to September 30, pro-forma revenues had risen 4 per cent to £710.5 million from £683.4 million a year earlier.
UK revenues declined 7.5 per cent because of "weaker performances", but Logica said that its energy and utility businesses had returned to growth in third quarter and that there had been strong growth in the public sector.
Growth was propped up by France, which grew third-quarter pro-forma revenues by 17.1 per cent.
The Netherlands also experienced a 9.5 per cent rise and the Nordic region was up by 6.6 per cent.
In a note to investors, Panmure Gordon said: "In our view the market was expecting worse news, and while we are downgrading our sales and profit estimates, the news about operating margin of just under 9 per cent should be read positively.”
Jim McKenna, the interim chief executive, said: “Revenue growth above the market in France, Netherlands and the Nordics in the third quarter was partially offset by weaker performances in the UK and international businesses.”
“In the UK, we remain focused on improving operational performance in our commercial business and were pleased with the return to growth in the energy and utilities sector in the third quarter.”
Martin Read, the former chief executive of Logica, resigned this year after a profit warning.
Mr Green, the incoming boss, is BT's former head of strategy and operations and is widely credited with turning around BT's initially problematic global services division.
