The company said that its markets in both the public and private sectors were healthy as it reported strong growth in the second half.

Capita said that it had won contracts to deliver outsourced services on behalf of Prudential UK, Swindon Borough Council and Co-operative Insurance since its interim results in July.

It had also extended its contract with Transport for London to deliver the congestion charging scheme until November 2009. The extension is worth £90 million.

Capita also announced today that its health solutions business had extended its contract with BT to provide occupational health services, worth about £13.5 million over nine years, until 2015.

"Across the Group, we have been successful in securing contracts with both new and existing customers as well as increasing the scope of existing contracts," Capita said in a statement.

"In addition, we are continuing to achieve operating efficiencies through economies of scale and by accelerating the offshoring of business processes to our facility in India."
