Interest rates: The Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee is expected to cut interest rates on Thursday by between 0.5 percentage points and a full point to another historic low.
Manufacturing sector: The latest CIPS/Markit purchasing managers’ survey, due out today, is expected to show that its headline index fell in November to 39.5, from 41.5 in October. Any figure under 50 signals contraction.
Services sector: The purchasing managers’ survey, due on Wednesday, is expected to show a headline index of 41 for November, down from 42.4 in October.
Eurozone GDP: Updated estimates due out on Thursday are expected to confirm initial figures showing that the 15-nation eurozone economy contracted by 0.2 per cent in the third quarter.
Eurozone interest rates: The European Central Bank will set eurozone interest rates on Thursday and is expected to order a further half-point cut to 2.75 per cent.
Eurozone producer prices: Data for October, due out tomorrow, are forecast to show that the cost of goods leaving factories in the 15-nation bloc fell by 0.2 per cent, cutting the annual pace of increase to 7.1 per cent, from September’s 7.9 per cent.
Eurozone retail sales: Figures due on Wednesday are expected to show that sales fell by 0.4 per cent in October, down by 1.4 per cent on a year earlier.
US employment: Nonfarm pay-rolls data, to be released on Friday, are expected to have fallen by a further 300,000 in November, after a 240,000 drop in October. The unemployment rate is tipped to rise to 6.8 per cent, from 6.5 per cent.
US factory orders: Official data due out on Thursday are expected to show that US factory orders fell by 2.8 per cent in October, after a 2.5 per cent drop in September.
US manufacturing: The latest Institute of Supply Management survey for US manufacturing, out today, is expected to show a headline index of 38 for November, down from 38.9 in October.
