Inflation: Official figures due out tomorrow are expected to show that inflation on the consumer prices index fell to 4.9 per cent in October, from 5.2 per cent in September. The retail prices index, the alternative measure of inflation that includes housing costs, is tipped to have fallen to 4.6 per cent, from 5 per cent.
Retail sales: Official figures due out on Thursday are tipped to show that retail sales fell by 0.8 per cent in October, after a 0.4 per cent decline in September. This would take the annual growth in sales to 1.5 per cent, from 1.8 per cent in September.
London sales: Like-for-like retail sales in London fell by 1.8 per cent in October, according to the British Retail Consortium, a slightly stronger outcome than the decline of 2.2 per cent in Britain as a whole.
Japan: The Japanese economy contracted by 0.1 per cent in the third quarter, sending the world's second-largest economy into recession, with its second successive quarter of negative growth.
Eurozone manufacturing: Data out on Friday are forecast to show that activity in the eurozone manufacturing sector fell to 40.5 in November, from 41.1 in October, while the services sector fell to 45.2, from 45.8. Any figure under 50 indicates contraction.
German producer prices: Data due out on Thursday are tipped to show that German producer prices rose by 0.3 per cent in October, after falling 0.6 per cent in September, taking annual growth in prices to 8.3 per cent, from 7.2 per cent.
US manufacturing: Data published today are forecast to show that the gauge of US manufacturing slid to minus 27 in November, from minus 24.6 in October.
US industrial production: Data due today are tipped to show that growth in US industrial production was unaltered in October, after a 2.8 per cent fall in September.
US producer prices: Data due out tomorrow are tipped to show that US producer price inflation fell by 1.8 per cent in October, after a 0.4 per cent slide in September.
US inflation: Figures due out on Wednesday are tipped to show that the US consumer prices index fell by 0.8 per cent in October, after remaining unchanged in September, taking the headline rate of inflation to 4.1 per cent, from 4.9 per cent. Core inflation is tipped to have slowed to 2.4 per cent, from 2.5 per cent.
