A Scottish company has won a contract to manage hotels in the giant Best Western chain.
Bravara Management, of Stirling, was set up only last year by Marshall Dallas, its managing director.
The deal with the UK division of Best Western will be unveiled at an event involving key figures from the hotel and property sectors in London on Tuesday.
The agreement means that Bravara will take over some hotels in Scotland with a view to improving asset values.
Best Western operates 4,000 hotels, which are managed independently, in 40 countries including 1,300 in Europe.
Dallas said the deal could open the way for more opportunities for Bravara. The company is unusual in hotel management in that it does not own any of the properties.
“We focus on maximising the asset by increasing profit and reducing costs,” said Dallas.
“In our current contracts we have achieved significant success and the deal with Best Western will allow us to look for further growth opportunities.
“The rules have changed in the hotel industry. With declining property prices and increased utility bills and food costs, real value will only be driven by treating hotels as operating businesses and not just relying on property uplifts.”
Dallas set up the company last year after 24 years’ experience in the hotels industry, including spells at Trust House Forte, Holiday Inn and MacDonald Hotels.
Bravara provides services for Ladyglen Hotels and Samuel Solley Hotels in Scotland.
