Atkins, the largest engineering consultancy in the UK, has hit the nail on the head when it comes to building a work environment for its 11,437 people. They wouldn’t leave tomorrow if they had another job offer, with a 70% positive score, and are proud to work for the firm (74%).

Stress isn’t a problem at Atkins (a top 10 score of 74%) while a 50% score, ranking the firm fourth, shows staff generally aren’t exhausted after a day at work.

The Surrey-based company offers enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption benefits. Staff say they are happy with the balance between their work and home lives (64%).

Atkins donated £250,000 to charity last year. A 67% score ranks the organisation third for making a positive difference to the world.
