And if not? “I’ll give you a day off to find somewhere you can be happy.”

Abraham doesn’t have much to worry about. Staff say they would not leave tomorrow if they had another job, giving an 80% positive score in our survey.

Luminus provides affordable housing to thousands of people throughout eastern England. The Huntingdon-based company rents out properties, builds new homes and undertakes regeneration projects.

Staff appreciate that Luminus makes a difference to local residents, with a top five positive result of 75% when asked if the company puts enough back into thelocal community.

Benefits are well thought out and generous — a financial adviser is on hand for staff to discuss any money matters, an extra day’s holiday is awarded if an employee doesn’t take a sick day all year and discounted gym membership and tailored health support through an online personal health management system ensure staff stay in shape. They place Luminus in the top 10 for saying their health is not suffering because of work (85%), showing that the company benefits are doing the trick.

Abraham is an influential figure and his strong leadership is recognised by his staff — this is Luminus’ highest scoring factor, with a top 15 score of 79%. Staff appreciate Abraham running the company on strong moral principles, returning an impressive 86% positive score, which is beaten by only five other mid-sized leaders. They are inspired by Abraham’s leadership (78% positive) and have a great deal of faith in him (81%).

Training is central to employees’ career progression and there is plenty to choose from — Spanish classes, talks on personal image, public speaking and presentation skills combine personal development with training necessary for work.

The company also offers loans for college courses, which are repayable over 12 months. Staff give a top 25 score of 74% when asked if they find their training useful.

They also say they are proud to work for Luminus, giving a score of 81%, and that they love working here (80%).
