Team members have confidence in each other’s abilities and managers trust their judgment (both 76%). At least once a year, a performance management process evaluates the firm’s directors, often through a feedback session. Staff have confidence in the senior management team (71%).
The company offers job-sharing, home working and reduced hours. Any employee can request a sabbatical. The length and terms of the break are discussed on a case-by-case basis. Those who have been away from work because of long-term sickness or on maternity leave can return to work gradually. The firm also pays above the statutory maternity and paternity rates. Staff say work is an important part of their lives, giving a 76% positive score.
A generous £3,000 annual limit per employee is allocated by the company to match any personal fundraising. All staff are encouraged to take a minimum of two days every year for volunteering. They say their efforts to help good causes outside work are supported by the firm (71%), a top 10 score among the big companies.
An annual prize of £5,000 is awarded to employees who are involved in valuable volunteering work to support a specific cause, and quarterly awards are given for outstanding achievements. Staff would strongly recommend working at the firm to others, giving a 73% score.
