Founded in 1967, it now has a staff of more than 83,000 people in 36 countries and is based in Paris. Capgemini reported an annual revenue of €8.7 billion (£6.5 billion) last year. Are there opportunities for work experience? Capgemini runs two-day “insight experiences” during the Christmas, Easter and summer vacations. These include an introduction to areas in which the company works, group exercises, case studies and a chance to network with the firm’s consultants and recruiters. What graduate jobs are on offer? There are three graduate development programmes – management consulting, technology consulting and outsourcing – together offering about 80 vacancies this year. The minimum entry requirement is a 2:1 degree and applicants for management consulting also need a minimum of grades ABB at A-level, those hoping to join the other programmes should have at least three grade Cs. Where are the jobs? The UK head office is in Woking, Surrey, and the company has offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, London, Rotherham, Sale (near Manchester), Swansea and Wynyard (on Teeside).
What is the pay like? Starting salaries are in the range of £25,000 to £32,000 this year.
What is the competition like? Major IT and consulting companies typically receive 10 to 25 applications per vacancy for their graduate programmes.
