My Blueberry Nights

Jones is Elizabeth, a heartbroken girl who develops a comforting routine of coming into Jeremy’s (Law) café for blueberry pie, before deciding to set off on a journey across America to leave her troubles behind and meet new people.
In her first acting role, Jones is sweet and unaffected, and she is supported by brilliant performances from Weisz as the estranged wife of an alcoholic policeman and Portman as a tough-nut gambler. But the beautiful visuals – the swirling neon on the windows, the luminous cityscapes – outshine them, almost replacing the action and even the dialogue. The extras are disappointing; they use the same recut interviews in multiple featurettes.
