He offended Christians, Jews, women, men and the entire population of Kazakhstan with Borat, now Sacha Baron Cohen is to dish up another dose of his merciless humour in a new film.
Bruno is scheduled for a May 15, 2009 release and will star Baron Cohen, 36, as the faux Austrian fashionista he made famous in his TV series Da Ali G Show.
The gay catwalk groupie sucks in unsuspecting members of the fashion world, convincing them to wax lyrical about apparel until they embarrass themselves.
His last film, whose full, inventive moniker was Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, made a splash in the winter of 2006, grossing more than £60 million for Twentieth Century Fox.
The farcical storyline – which sung the praises of bestiality and took in a bout of naked wrestling – won the spoof documentary an Oscar nomination and bagged Baron Cohen a Golden Globe, but resulted in a slew of law suits and a wave of outrage.
The notoriously private British comedian, who has one child with his fiancee, actress Isla Fisher, was accused of anti-Semitism, although he himself is Jewish, and criticised for the way he portrayed Kazakhstan. Law suits filed by participants in the film failed.
Despite Borat’s success, Bruno will have stiff competition at the box office as The Da Vinci Code sequel Angels and Demons, starring Tom Hanks, is due for release the same day.

Dan Brown's books are "too intellectual!"
For who? The beauty of Dan Brown's books is that they can be read by anyone from the age of 8 upwards, the pity is that they do not come with the tag "unsuitable for older readers."
Mark Watson, Barcelona, Spain
"......Angels and Demons being too intellectual for people simply looking for light summer fun."
I think Bruno is likely to be the more intellectual film.
Bruno is Sachas best character and I can't wait for this movie. Homophobes beware.
Say Hi to Gay TV Austria!!!
Zens Kain, coventry, UK
Accusing Dan Brown of being not intellectual/intelligent is usually an argument that only a christian would bother using, to try and punish Brown for his "blasphemy". Beliving in religious nonsense - now THAT is truly unintelligent.

> Angels and Demons being too intellectual

mark, london,
To be accused of anti-Semitism is not only being accused of being anti-Jews - Arabs (and others, e,g. Ethiopians) being also Semites.

Bruno vs Tom Hanks? Let the devil take the hindmost! (...as it were.)
rupert salzman, new york, usa
Sure, Hanks might try to stiff him, but Bruno will win out in the end on account of Angels and Demons being too intellectual for people simply looking for light summer fun.
